Frequently Asked Questions

The following recommended checklists are provided to make your big game hunt a safe, enjoyable experience. We have divided them into three categories: General; Day Packing; Optional Gear

General

  • Gun, sling, case, and ammunition (20 rounds minimum)
  • 1 piece of florescent orange or pink clothing & hat. (both must be worn at all times)
  • Warm & cold weather hunting shirts and pants (recommend 2 pair minimum)
  • Warm & cold weather gloves and hat
  • Thermal underwear (recommend 2 pair)
  • Boots (waterproof, recommend 2 pair)
  • Heavier shirt/jacket
  • Sunglasses
  • Socks (extra)
  • Rain Gear (jacket & pants – preferably not nylon)
  • Watch

Day Packing

  • Day pack

  • Small first aid kit (Including space blanket)
  • Compass and whistle

  • Hunting license, hunter safety card, and pen
  • Flashlight/Headlamp w/ extra batteries (Minimum 2 sources of light)

Almost Heaven Adventures, LLC (Outfitter)(dba: Colorado Outfitted Hunts/Wyoming Outfitted Hunts*) has the following refund policy as it pertains to all deposits and fees paid to them by a client (Client) for any/all services requested or provided.

  1. Within 7 calendar days of booking a hunt, a $750.00 deposit is required to reserve the dates. Deposits will be accepted in cash, personal check, certified check, credit card, or money order. Outfitter is not responsible for any cash sent via mail.
    1. If the client does not draw a license for any species applied for the clients deposit will be refunded in full within 30 calendar days from the license draw results release date. It is the outfitters responsibility to verify draw results.
    2. If no license is drawn the client may choose to apply the paid deposit to a future hunt. (i.e. the next year) If the client chooses to apply the deposit to a future hunt the client must submit a written request to the outfitter within 20 calendar days from the license draw results release date. If no written request is received the outfitter will refund the deposit as in written in (a) above
  2. No later than 30 days prior to the scheduled hunt start date, all remaining fees shall be paid to the outfitter by the client. All monies paid as a deposit will be applied to the total hunt price. These fees shall be paid in cash, personal check, certified check, or money order. Outfitter is not responsible for any cash sent via mail. In addition to the above stated deposit refunds, full refunds for all deposits/fees shall only be returned by the Outfitter to the Client in the following situations. No refunds will be issued after December 31 of the year in which the hunt was booked. Refunds will be returned from the Outfitter to the Client within 30 days of receiving all required notification and documentation.
    1. In the case of death of the licensee. Any person who has authority to represent the decedent as provided by a court order shall submit a written request for a deposit/fee refund supported by a copy of the respective death certificate.
    2. In the case of the licensee’s spouse, parent’s, grandparent’s, lineal descendants and their spouses, step-parent, step-sibling, step-children, in-laws (mother, father, brother, sister, step-son, step-daughter) the licensee shall submit a written request for a deposit/fee refund supported by the respective death certificate.
    3. The date of death on such certificate shall have occurred within 2 weeks prior to the scheduled hunt date or during the scheduled season in which a valid license was held, resulting in the licensee not being able to participate in the majority of the season.
    4. In the case of incapacitating illness or injury of the licensee supported by a physician’s sworn statement provide to the Outfitter.
    5. Military Personnel who receive Permanent Change of Station orders or are assigned away from their home duty stations on Temporary Duty Orders, all of which must be supported by a copy of official military orders from the Armed Forces of the United States
    6. Individuals who are not able to participate in scheduled hunt days as a result of a court subpoena, jury duty, Grand Jury Investigation, or attorneys required to attend criminal cases. A written request for deposit/fee refund shall be submitted supported by a certified copy of the court document.
    7. When the Department (CO Parks & Wildlife/WY Game & Fish) determines 100% of the hunting opportunity and access to the hunt area has been closed due to administrative actions of the state or federal government in closing of public access to public lands due to a natural disaster. (i.e. fire)
    8. An error on the part of the Department or its authorized agent where the Client was issued a license not requested.
    9. Any youth licensee may be granted a deposit/fee refund if the youth licensee’s opportunity to hunt is jeopardized as a result of any license refund granted by the Department.
    10. A sponsoring organization of a person with a life-threatening illness may be granted a deposit/fee refund if the licensee’s opportunity to hunt is jeopardized as a result of incapacitating illness or injury supported by a physicians sworn statement that the licensee is incapable of performing tasks necessary to exercise the privileges of the license.

Waivers and Release Forms

All guests are required to complete the following forms upon booking. Please fill out the Assumption of Risk, Consent and Release, and Hunt Contract prior to your hunt.
